Ultramarine (2022)

About the Piece:

Ultramarine is written for the JACK Quartet. Ultramarine suggests a deep blue color pigment which is originally from Latin ultra (beyond) and mare (the sea). The piece activates the reflections regarding the living beings of the ocean and more beyond. The piece explores a broad conception of how physicality triggers kinetic motion and affects the result in sound, where through each grace and gesture, sonority gradually exposes and unfolds. The musical breath-in and breath-out bring evocative power and sympathy to humanity.
