Tripping in Beige (2022)
Instrumentation: Bass clarinet, bassoon, horn, electric guitar
About the Piece:
Tripping in Beige, as always, is a piece partly driven by the very interest in the color connotation and metaphor. It suggests pale sandy fawn color, a grayish tan, a light-grayish yellowish-brown which can be conceived as the baffling background board, allowing the possible arbitrary absurdity and seriousness or the transcend over seriousness and ridiculous nonsense.
Even though the text and music, like oil and water, might contradict each other, they fit the same overall musicality, which is more perceptual, and interjective based on an individual's interaction and agency.
